After a couple less than packed shows at the 400 Bar, I was quite pleased to see First Ave packed to the rafters last Friday night for what was easily one of the best shows of the year. Sharon mentioned early on that it was their first true sellout of the tour, and it's hard to believe that didn't push her and the amazing Dap-Kings even harder than normal. The entire night I kept thinking in the back of my mind "how is this woman over 50 years old and still moving/singing like that?" A hidden (although less and less by the day it seems) gem indeed. Do yourselves a favor and be sure not to miss Sharon when she comes around next time (hopefully in the Spring).
