Liverpool's Clinic is a very strange band. Yet, their eccentricity is what makes them so compelling  For example, the band never takes the stage without wearing their trademark surgeon masks, often wearing the scrubs to match.  Musically, Clinic takes great pride in striving not to sound like any other band. That's not to say they are without influence, but they certainly don't wear their influences on their sleeves (of their scrubs). Meshing the gritty energy and excitement of post-punk with various electronic instruments, they top it off with vocals ranging from a breathy whisper to a scratchy howl. Their live shows take on an even more high energy and punkish feel compared to their records. The band has seen tons of critical success and opened for bands such as Radiohead, The Flaming Lips and Arcade Fire, but have never really broken through, especially in America.

Clinic are on tour supporting their latest album, 'Do It', their strongest effort since 2002's 'Walking With Thee'. The show at the 7th Street Entry is also essentially a makeup gig for their cancelled show there in May of 2007.

Opening the show are Austin, TX's Shearwater , who are supporting their brand new album, 'Rook' due out June 3rd. Shearwater originally formed in 1999 by Okkervil River members Jonathan Meiburg and Will Sheff as a quieter outlet for their music. Due to Okkervil River's recent success, Sheff's involvement in Shearwater has dwindled, while it was just announced yesterday that Meiburg is leaving Okkervil to focus on Shearwater full time.
