 The Swell Season are embarking on a tour in support of the Motion Picture soundtrack to the film “Once,”. The Swell Season is led by Irish singer Glen Hansard (of the band The Frames ) and Czech newcomer Marketa Irglova. On the heels of their recent Grammy Nominations for Best Song for a Motion Picture and Best Compilation Soundtrack, this Sunday, February 24, the duo will perform their Oscar Nominated song, “Falling Slowly”, at the 2008 Academy Awards ceremony. That song was a recent winner of Best Song at the Critic’s Choice Awards, and the film is a nominee at this year’s Film Independent’s Spirit Awards. This will be their first time in the Twin Cities after opening for Damien Rice in December of 2006, but stopping one city shy of opening for him here in Minneapolis. The Swell Season feat.
